Unlock the New Poltergeist Battle Royale Class

A new challenger has arrived! Once Upon a Time in Rust, the sixth season for Call of Duty: Mobile, introduces a new Battle Royale class — the Poltergeist. The Poltergeist deceives opponents with its cloaking device, appearing first here and then suddenly there to all but the most eagle-eyed opponents.

Read on to find out all you need to know about the new Poltergeist class, including what it offers, how to unlock it, and tips for mastering it on the way to your next victory.

Poltergeist Overview

The Poltergeist uses subterfuge and surprise to confuse opponents. Whether you need to reposition for an attack or evade an incoming threat, its Active Camo cloaking ability provides near invisibility so that you can move without giving away your position.

And you move faster while cloaked, too. The Poltergeist’s Voidwalker ability increases running and walking speed when Active Camo is up, helping you reach your destination quickly and stealthily. This is invaluable when you need to move in the open where an enemy might otherwise see you.

Taking about a minute to charge up, you’ll be able to use the Poltergeist’s Active Camo ability several times in a match. Keep in mind, though, that firing your weapon at any time immediately deactivates Active Camo, so wait to shoot until you’re ready to commit to the kill.

How to Unlock the Poltergeist Class

To access the Poltergeist, you’ll first have to prove yourself. Beginning May 21, select the Event tab and then Featured to view the tasks you must complete in order to unlock the new class. Complete the variety of Battle Royale tasks and the Poltergeist is yours.

Now let’s discuss how to best use the Poltergeist class once you’ve unlocked it.

5 Tips for Mastering the Poltergeist Class

1.     Remember that the Poltergeist’s Active Camo ability only provides near invisibility, not total invisibility. The closer you are to an enemy player while cloaked, the more likely they are to spot you. Choose your timing wisely.

2.     Looting and fighting near the edge of the circle? Save Active Camo until it starts collapsing, and then activate it when it’s time to move — just make sure you find a building or some other cover before your cloak runs out. Plus, the Voidwalker ability will increase your speed to help you outrun the circle.

3.     Use Active Camo to cloak yourself when you run into a group of enemies fighting each other. Let them inflict damage on one another while you get in position to wipe them all out.

4.     Bait the enemy. Let them see you and then take cover where they’ll come after you. Use Active Camo to make a getaway while they waste their time searching for you or to reposition and flank them as they’re distracted.

5.     We said it before and it bears repeating again: shoot your weapon and the cloak de-activates. The Poltergeist is all about the setup. Get into position, wait for the right moment, and attack.

Good luck. We’ll see you online.

The Kali Sticks: How to Unlock the New Melee Weapon in Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare®

Season Four brought a new melee weapon into the fray across Multiplayer, Co-Op, and Warzone.

Free for everyone who completes the challenge, the Kali Sticks are going to break some bones more than words can ever hurt your opponents. Here’s its in-game description:

“Dual wielding batons allow operators to approach their targets with great agility. Sturdy, lightweight design enables rapid attacks for zoning your enemies.

And here’s how you unlock the Kali Sticks:

Using the Knife, get 3 Kills while sliding in 15 different matches.

While it will take some practice, time, and maybe some guidance, earning the Kali Sticks could only take you a few in-game hours of playtime.

An Alternate Way to Unlock the Kali Sticks

Before we give our tips for unlocking these dual batons of doom, there is another way to unlock the Kali Sticks outside of the challenge.

With the release of Season Four came the ‘Dragon Turtle’ Store bundle. This bundle has only three items, and one of them is a blueprint of the Kali Sticks known as the Ram Jam. These red-painted sticks are functionally similar to the normal Kali Sticks, but allow you to try them out before unlocking them fully through the challenge.

On top of the Ram Jam, you get a cool turtle-shell looking Riot Shield blueprint – ‘Carapace’ – and a pretty cool emblem to show off in public lobbies.

So, if you just can’t wait to play with the Kali Sticks, consider picking up the ‘Dragon Turtle’ bundle in the Store. Alternatively, if you’d rather earn this weapon through the in-game challenge – which is the only way to level the weapon up and unlock its Camo Challenges – don’t worry; we have some tips to make this easier for you:

Top 5 Kali Sticks Challenge Tips

5. Wood You Mind Making a Melee Loadout? You’ll need to use a loadout with a Combat Knife, but ideally, you should build around a melee playstyle. Here’s a recommended loadout we have for that, keeping in mind you should use a loadout that’s to your personal preference:

Primary Weapon: Riot Shield (for back protection)

Secondary Weapon: Combat Knife (mandatory)

Perk 1: Double Time (Doubles duration of Tactical Sprint, great for melee builds)

Perk 2: Ghost (Hides death markers of enemies you kill and keeps you off radars)

Perk 3: Tracker (Hunt down enemies via their footsteps)

Lethal Equipment: Any

Tactical Equipment: Any (go with your comfort level – want more Tactical Sprint? Use Stim. Want to disorient your opponents? Try a Flash or Stun Grenade. Etc.)

4. Stick and Slide. To slide, perform a crouch command while sprinting or tactical sprinting. Ideally, you’ll want to slide as close to your target as possible, then melee them to tally one up towards this challenge. Do that three times in a match, over 15 games, and the Kali Sticks are yours.

3. Kali-mity Equals Opportunity. Often, enemies who have tunnel vision – read: are scoped in with a high-powered optic – on their engagement, or who are in the middle of a firefight, are prime melee targets. Try getting behind enemy lines in the middle of a sniper duel and slide your way to some sitting ducks.

2. Stick to Multi-Life Multiplayer Warzone Modes. The more opportunities you have to get three sliding melee kills, the better. Besides playing respawn-heavy Multiplayer and Warzone modes, try ones with long potential durations – i.e. Warzone Rumble or Demolition – to maximize potential.

1. Be Like Oak: Bend, Don’t Break. Fifteen sliding melee kill triplets seems daunting at first, but be patient and creative! Maybe do your camo or mastery challenges for your Combat Knife while attempting this, or throw your opponents off by switching to a long-range loadout after getting those slides in.

Because the Kali Sticks are functionally like a Combat Knife, our tips for completing this challenge apply for being a master on the sticks WITH the sticks. Just be aware that these sticks have a slightly longer lunge at the cost of a few more milliseconds of time to deal that lethal blow, as your Operator needs to strike with the fury of both sticks to neutralize an enemy.

The Rytec AMR: How to Unlock the New Sniper Rifle in Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare®

Season Four Reloaded brought in the big guns – or, literally, a massive sniper rifle – to Multiplayer, Co-Op, and Warzone™.

Free for all players who complete its challenge, the Rytec AMR is an anti-material rifle listed within the greater sniper rifle category capable of ripping through enemy equipment and vehicles, let alone infantry. Here’s its in-game description:

“This semi-automatic Anti-Material Rifle is chambered in .50 BMG for dominant long range assaults. A 25x59mm high-explosive payload variant is officially listed as “experimental,” but has been deployed on multiple classified missions with great effectiveness.

And here’s how you unlock the Rytec AMR:

Get 3 Quickscope Kills using Sniper or Marksman Rifles in 15 different matches.

Dust off your scope of choice and pop in that montage music playlist. Unlocking the Rytec AMR will require you to relive the “glory days” of quickscoping in Call of Duty. Fortunately, as you’ll find when attempting this challenge, quickscopers old and new can have some fun en route to unlocking this awesome AMR.

An Alternate Way to Unlock the Rytec AMR

Before we give our tips for unlocking this powerful long-range rifle, there is another way to unlock the Sniper Rifle Delta family outside of the challenge.

Now available in the Store, the ‘Lost Souls’ bundle includes the Damnation blueprint for Sniper Rifle Delta. This variant of the weapon comes pre-built with five attachments: the FTAC 488mm Dictator Barrel, Tac Laser, the Cronen C480 Pro Optic, Stippled Grip Tape, and the XRK Mastodon Stock. With these attachments combined, this configures a highly mobile weapon capable of aiming down sights at blazing speed compared to the base weapon.

On top of this blueprint, the ‘Lost Souls’ bundle also includes a calling card (‘Get Over Here’) and an emblem (‘The Chosen One’), both of which are animated to give your profile enough flair to match the Damnation’s awesomeness.

So, if you just can’t wait to play with the Sniper Rifle Delta, consider picking up the ‘Lost Souls’ bundle in the Store today.

Alternatively, if you rather earn this weapon through the in-game challenge – which is the only way to level the weapon up and unlock its Camo Challenges – don’t worry; we have some tips to make this easier on you:

Top 5 Rytec AMR Challenge Tips

5. Marksman or Sniper Rifle? Sniper rifles have a more forgiving damage profile, allowing for one-shot kills at greater distances and, in some cases, below the upper chest. However, marksman rifles are more mobile and make it easier to quickscope, at the cost of it being harder to land a reliable one-shot kill outside of a headshot. In summary, choose the weapon type – and more importantly, specific weapon – that fits your skill and comfort level.

4. Quickscoping 101. If you don’t know what quickscoping is, it’s simple: run around, acquire target, aim down sight, fire quickly, and repeat until you get three kinds of these kills in a game to tally one up for this challenge.

3. Stick to Multi-Life Multiplayer and Warzone Modes. Like the Kali Sticks challenge, multi-life game modes allow you to quickly rack up opportunities for quickscope kills. In other words, if that 900 reload cancel double switch fakie off the tower in Rust doesn’t work out, you can respawn and try, try again.

2. A Montage-Worthy Loadout. Now that you figured out what weapon you’re most comfortable with and how to quickscope with it, here’s a recommended loadout we have for this challenge, keeping in mind you should use a loadout that’s to your personal preference:

Primary Weapon: Your Choice

Secondary Weapon: Kali Sticks (Fastest weapon in terms of movement speed, to be whipped out when travelling towards the next engagement)

Perk 1: Quick Fix (Activates health regeneration immediately after kills, great for those bouncing between engagements quickly)

Perk 2: High Alert (Alerts you when enemies outside your peripheral vision target you, which allows you to snap around and quickscope them in response)

Perk 3: Amped (Faster weapon swaps to make those ridiculous double-switch quickscope moves easier to pull off)

Lethal Equipment: Any (doesn’t matter, but shooting and whipping out a Throwing Knife at the same time looks cool if you’re going for eye-catching plays)

Tactical Equipment: Flash / Stun / Gas Grenade (Disorienting your opponents make them easier targets to quickscope)

1. Reconnaissance is Power. Whether it’s running Recon Drones and UAVs on your own or playing with squad that makes reliable callouts and uses these recon tools religiously, the more intel you have on enemy movements, the more information you have to set-up your quickscoping trap.

If – and when – you unlock the Rytec AMR, you could use the above tips as a great starting point for learning how to quickscope with it. However, given the weapon’s experimental magazines and other cool configuration options, it’s best to experiment with the Rytec AMR to fully actualize its potential as a fantastic change-of-pace sniper rifle in your loadouts.

The Grau 5.56: How to Unlock the Grau Assault Rifle in Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare®

5. Fun-Sized and Frenetic… Some Multiplayer playlists feature maps that are small like Shipment, Rust, or, in select limited-engagement events, Gunfight maps outside of the Gunfight mode. Take your assault rifle into these kinds of playlists and embrace the frequency of engagements you’ll encounter in these close quarters.

4. … or Colossal and Chaotic. Alternatively, bigger modes, such as Warzone, could also work for this challenge, as you’ll have more enemies to theoretically take down when going for five kills in a minute. Remember: Plunder gives you multiple lives and access to your own loadout from the jump, so it may be a better place to go for challenges than Battle Royale modes.

3. Go for the Mid-Range. Whether you use a fast-firing M13 or a heavy-hitting Oden, all assault rifles’ effective ranges are somewhere within the medium-distance spectrum. A good rule of thumb is to start engagements from a dozen to three dozen meters out. However, if you have a clear shot on a target even if it is “too close” or “too far”, don’t be afraid to engage!

2. A Catch-All Recommendation for a Unique Weapon Class. Because every assault rifle is unique in its strengths and weaknesses, there isn’t much of a hard and fast rule for specific loadouts except for one: anything that extends your magazine capacity or ammo supply. Extended Mags and the Fully Loaded Perk fill those two needs respectively.

If you’re looking for a weapon with the most ammo per clip, the Kilo 141 takes the cake with a 100-Round Drum Mag. The Kilo 141 is also chambered in the super common 5.56 NATO cartridge, so running out of ammo won’t be too much of an actual concern.

1. Read it Back. Get 5 kills in a minute when using an Assault Rifle 25 times.” This means you can stack multiple tallies if you are dominating within a single game. Keep playing aggressively, don’t quit out early, and you may find yourself banking 2, 3, or even a half dozen counts towards this challenge in a single game!

Complete this challenge, and you’ll unlock the Grau 5.56, an all-around powerhouse that has found a solid place within the community’s Warzone meta weapons. Try out all its barrel attachments just to get a taste of how radically different it can be used, and keep in mind its typical recoil pattern: upwards with a slight kick to the left before it slants back hard right.

Stay frosty.

Unlock the Katana Operator Skill in Call of Duty®: Mobile

Tips for Bringing a Katana to a Gunfight

1.     Map Knowledge. Consider the map you are playing on before you activate the Katana. Is it close-quarters or does it feature long sightlines? Because the Katana is a close-range weapon make sure the battlefield enables you to have success with it.

2.     Striking Distance. If you are unsure if you are close enough to land a Katana kill, pay attention to your HUD. A crosshair will “lock-on” to an enemy hostile that is within range.

3.     Smoke ‘Em Out. For enemies a good distance away, Smoke is a good way to close the gap undetected. If you want to continue using the Katana, you won’t have access to your standard weaponry. Use Smoke to move with stealth, then emerge with a deadly Katana surprise.

4.     Stun’ On ‘Em. Concussion grenades disorient and slow enemies. Capitalize on the confusion and lack of speed to move in and let your blade do the rest.

5.     Feeling Perky? If you are rolling with the Katana, choose some perks to benefit your Operator Skill. Consider Ghost to stay hidden and Skulker or Lightweight to increase your movement speed.

Conquer the Katana Kill Challenge and wield the sword in battle on your way to victory.

See you on the go and online!

Dual Kodachis: How to Unlock the Deadly Swords in Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare®

Top 5 Dual Kodachis Challenge Tips

5. Cutting Up Verdansk. Snipers and campers beware. This loadout is built on the idea of using the Combat Knife to quickly engage and dismantle enemy squads huddled up in buildings and on rooftops, focused on the streets below and unaware of their impending doom. It’s best used in Trios or Quads where you’re more likely to run into bigger groups.

Primary Weapon: SMG with Tactical Suppressor (to remain silent when forced into ranged combat)

Secondary Weapon: Combat Knife (mandatory)

Perk 1: Cold-Blooded (to negate enemies using the High Alert perk)

Perk 2: Ghost (keep off enemy radar)

Perk 3: Spotter (to spot clustered equipment, a good sign of nearby enemies)

Lethal Equipment: Any

Tactical Equipment: Heartbeat Sensor (another helpful tracking tool along with Spotter)

Head to areas with tall buildings or other sites where you’re likely to find enemy players grouped up and covering the outer perimeter. Downtown Tavorsk and Verdansk Hospital are prime candidates, and you might try out the Stadium, too, to catch enemies from behind who are shooting down into the pitch.

4. Dead Silence. In Multiplayer, Dead Silence is the perfect Field Upgrade for closing in on enemy players without stomping around and giving up your position at the last second. Even better, melee kills refresh its duration, perfect for landing one takedown after another.

FiNN LMG: How to Unlock the New Monster LMG in Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare®

Top 5 FiNN LMG Challenge Tips

5. Track ‘em Down. Whether you’re fighting at a distance or up close, this loadout competes. High Alert and Tracker combine for superb situational awareness, with Double Time giving you the added tactical sprint needed to catch up to foes on the run. Switch to your pistol for faster movement, and if you need a diversion, toss your smoke grenade and rush in for the melee kill.

Primary Weapon: LMG of choice (mandatory)

Secondary Weapon: Pistol (for faster movement speed)

Perk 1: Double Time (to catch fleeing enemies)

Perk 2: High Alert (to avoid getting flanked)

Perk 3: Tracker (to more easily find players)

Lethal Equipment: Molotov Cocktail (to briefly shut down enemy pathways)

Tactical Equipment: Smoke Grenade (smoke the enemy position and run in for the melee kill)

Note that you must get the melee kill while holding your LMG. The Combat Knife or other melee weapons will not count toward the required kill, even if there is an LMG in your loadout.

4. Use the Tactical Insertion. In Multiplayer, use the Tactical Insertion Field Upgrade and consider setting up your next spawn in a vertical position. Look for unsuspecting enemies and drop down on any who are immediately below you. Get the melee kill and you’re good for the match.

3. Play Small Maps. Having trouble closing in on the enemy? Choose a playlist with small maps to up your encounter rate and reduce the distance between enemies as much as possible. Melee kill in Shipment? No problem.

2. Snap a Picture. Equip the Snapshot Grenade and toss it into rooms you’re ready to clear. You’ll get intel on the enemy’s precise location provided they’re not using the Battle-Hardened perk. Pick your target and rush in for the melee kill.

1. Plunder Melee. Warzone players can get some great melee opportunities in Plunder. You’re already starting with a full loadout, so you meet the LMG requirement right away, and with multiple spawns per match, your chances of getting a melee kill are greater than in Battle Royale.

See you online.

Unlock the New Hacker Battle Royale Class

5 Tips for Mastering the Hacker Class

1. Suspect enemies in the area? The Hacker’s Ice Pick gadget displays the number of enemy players being affected by your hack, making it a great tool both for disabling their intel and improving your own.

2. If you haven’t yet explored the latest areas added last season, the Hacker is the perfect class for doing so. Outpost and Dormitory in the north and Radar Base on the coast are particularly worth a visit, as the Hacker’s Ice Pick ability will disable enemy radar across the settlement, giving you the upper hand in hunting them down.

3. For even more disabling power, visit a chip upgrade terminal to boost your Ice Pick’s range and duration, giving you the power to shut down huge swaths of territory for 30 seconds at a time.

4. The Ice Pick isn’t just helpful in setting up an attack but can be a great tool when you need to make an escape, too. If you risk getting outnumbered by an incoming squad, activate your Ice Pick ability, hop onto a vehicle, and get out of there.

5. Remember that the Hacker’s passive Hard Wired ability keeps you off the mini-map of enemy players, making this a great class for aggressive players who like to be the first to an area. Get in, set up for incoming enemies, and take them down as they waltz in unsuspecting.

Good luck. We’ll see you online.
