Black Ops Cold War Editions Detailed, Available for Pre-Order Now

Land Themed Pack

Whether you call it the “motherland” or the “homeland,” these three items will help clean house of any hostile forces.

·      Operator Skin –Ground infantry with bandolier and mesh face camouflage.

·      Weapon Blueprint – “Sucker Punch” Shotgun – A sawed off-stock and shorter barrel more than mitigates the weight of shells taped to the side, with the weapon’s simple appearance allowing it to blend into most non-tundra engagement environments.

·      Vehicle Skin “Red Bear” – The colorful blue hue seems a little worn, but the bright red star on the side will made this a standout tank among a platoon.

Sea Themed Pack

Suit up for operations at sea to maneuver behind enemy lines.

·      Operator Skin –Special operations wetsuit.

·      Weapon Blueprint “Black Tide” Assault Rifle – Chambered for 5.56x45mm NATO cartridges, the Black Tide’s a gold standard for any Operator, a fitting label for a blueprint that features subtle, yet intricate, gold accents.

·      Vehicle Skin “Leviathan” Skin– A striking zebra-like pattern is only broken up by necessary accessories, including its classy seafaring trim and decals.

Air Themed Pack

Be a maverick and prepare for take-off with this pack – its contents allow any Operator with ace flying skills to also look the part.

·      Operator Skin – Airborne division operator flightsuit.

·      Weapon Blueprint “Wingman” Pistol – Like any good co-pilot or emergency parachute, this reliable sidearm can be phenomenal in a pinch, and comes with a design that includes a signature fin flash insignia and checkered muzzle.

·      Vehicle Skin “Death Dealer” Skin – This hulking beast of a chopper forgoes the more extreme checkered pattern seen on a Blueprint and Operator Skin for yellow markings on a blue-painted base, with a devilish bomb-dropping caricature plastered on for a dark comedic effect.

In addition, Ultimate edition pre-order players will receive the Battle Pass Bundle (Battle Pass + 20 immediately activated Tier Skips) for use in any Black Ops Cold War post-launch Season.

Black Ops Cold War Cross-Play and Battle Pass Intel Overview

This means:

·      Those who earned Modern Warfare items in Modern Warfare or Warzone will retain their content when Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War arrives this November.

·      All new Black Ops Cold War functional content, such as base weapons and attachments, can be unlocked by playing Black Ops Cold War and Warzone.

·      The Battle Pass System will continue to include free tiers, similar to the Modern Warfare Battle Pass system, which will include new base weapons in addition to other categories of items players can earn simply by playing the game

·      Battle Passes will launch in tandem with post-launch live seasons, which will include themed content that matches each season’s narrative.

·      Players can see the content they will earn or buy through the Battle Pass or Store.

·      The Battle Pass and Store will feature a variety of cosmetic content, including Operators, Weapons, Blueprints, Player Identity items, and more.

·      There will not be a Season Pass model. Post-launch Multiplayer maps and modes will be free and given to all players simultaneously on all platforms.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will continue this concept through a collaborative effort across multiple studios: Treyarch and Raven Software, along with additional support from High Moon Studios, Beenox, Activision Shanghai, Demonware, and Sledgehammer Games.

Be sure to check back here for additional information on the live seasons and post-release content plans for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone throughout the year and beyond.

We are looking forward to playing these experiences alongside the community next month in the Open Beta!

Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer Reveal

“We’ve worked with teams from our partner studios to advance our tech tremendously since Black Ops 4. Art and design really nailed it with natural environments and lifelike characters, weapons, and vehicles. When you experience all this along with our awesome 3D audio, it’s fully immersive.” – Eran Rich, Director of Technology

Black Ops Cold War features enhanced in-game audio, including 3D audio support on next-gen and PC, and a complete acoustic model to provide an authentic sound experience on all platforms. This allows sound waves to be delayed, reflected, and obstructed by geometry accurately, dynamically changing as players and other sound sources navigate through complex scenes.

We’ve also incorporated a new Threat Priority audio system that dynamically assigns higher priorities to direct threats during a firefight, so you always hear what you need to be successful. Shots are louder and sound different when an enemy is firing toward you; directional footsteps help determine the proximity and position of your enemies above, below, and around; directional bullet cracks and bullet impacts let you know where the highest threats are located; and improved occlusion provides more detail about the direction and distance of events all around you. On top of all this, next-generation hardware supports awesome 3D audio features, like HRTF on the PlayStation®5.

In the heat of a Multiplayer shootout, these new audio systems more clearly communicate where the danger is coming from at all times. In a game where sound can sometimes mean all the difference between victory and defeat, players will have every bit of information they need to win based on their awareness, map knowledge, and talent.

On next-gen consoles, players can expect 120Hz support for reduced input latency and a smoother gameplay experience, and hardware-based raytracing will be possible on next-gen, along with DirectX raytracing on PC for more realistic lighting and shadow effects. And on the PlayStation 5, haptic feedback and HRTF 3D audio will provide the most tactile combat experience yet in a Black Ops game.

Black Ops Cold War PlayStation®4 Alpha on September 18-20

Introducing Combined Arms: Domination (Available Sept 18-20)

Combined Arms: Domination is a new 12v12, vehicle-inclusive twist on traditional Domination, set in larger maps compared to the game’s traditional 6v6 play spaces.

In Combined Arms, vehicles such as Tanks, Snowmobiles, Wakerunners, and Gunboats will allow squads to bolster their firepower and mobility across these expanded environments. Like the core 6v6 Domination mode, teams will be tasked with capturing and defending multiple objectives between two initial spawn areas.

Along with traditional loadout-based firefights and Scorestreak play, Combined Arms: Domination is defined by how each squad uses the available selection of vehicles to help their team turn the tide of battle.

In the Alpha experience, Combined Arms: Domination will take place on two maps:

Map – Armada

It’s 1984, and U.S. and Soviet forces are battling it out in the North Atlantic Ocean in search of a prototype nuclear submarine.

Competing squads will take to the high seas with skirmishes on multiple ships, utilizing ziplines, rappel lines, and various seacraft to navigate the rough waters below.

The central ship is a hotspot for combat of all forms, from CQB battles in control stations, to sniper duels with adjacent ships, to aquatic warfare that may take place below the surface. Be sure to explore every nook and cranny of the map to discover new entryways to each objective point, and keep your head on a swivel.

Black Ops Cold War Zombies – A New Beginning

A Connected, Thrilling Experience Across Modes and Platforms

Whether you’re a long-time Zombies veteran who also plays Multiplayer, or a first-time Call of Duty player completely new to Zombies, expect to drop into the fun faster than ever before with friends and the greater community, no matter the platform or generation you play on.

Here are just some of the updates to Zombies in Black Ops Cold War:

Cross-Play and Cross-Gen

Just like Multiplayer, squads in Zombies can be formed across platforms and generations, marking the first time in franchise history this co-op mode is available via cross-play.

Battle Pass Progression and Loadouts

Players will now advance through the Battle Pass with time played in Zombies, similar to Multiplayer and Call of Duty: Warzone™.  Requiem team members can also start the match with their Gunsmith-crafted weapon of choice via loadout support.

Weapon Rarity

In addition to the return of the Pack-a-Punch machine to transform your weapon, all weapons will now have a rarity associated with them. The higher the rarity, the greater the damage output and attachments for the weapon. For the first time, this will allow any weapon in the game to be sustainable in later rounds. This also adds more variety and fun to finding new weapons through Wall Buys and the Mystery Box.

Field Upgrades

Outside of weaponry, players can deploy Field Upgrades as proactive abilities that add another layer to squad-based tactics.

Charge them up by killing zombies, then deploy them in times of desperate need. From offensive buffs to abilities that aid in evasion or healing and reviving, these Field Upgrades are made to fit numerous playstyles and situations.

Equipment

Around the map, you can craft and find lethal, tactical, and support equipment.

Lethal and tactical equipment are similar to the equipment found in Multiplayer, like Frag Grenades, while support equipment is home to high-powered offensive weaponry. This slot could be where you deploy Grenade Launchers, Sentry Turrets, Explosive Bows and even Chopper Gunners – all tools that can deliver a massive power spike when your squad needs it most.

Perks

Classic Zombies Perks are back with a reimagined Cold War aesthetic, including the return of timeless favorites like Juggernog and Speed Cola.

There’s no longer a limit to how many different Perks you can consume, so go ahead and crack open a six-pack, if you have the points to do so.

Exfil

Instead of perishing to the horde, Black Ops Cold War Zombies provides a new option to escape with your life when you’re feeling overrun… if you dare.

If the whole squad is in trouble, you can opt to exfiltrate the undead combat zone via helicopter. Although zombie spawns will be dialed up to 11, you should expect to earn some rewards if your squad completes this final push to survive.

Stay tuned for more intel from Treyarch and announcements on returning and new features for Zombies… but expect some surprises to stay redacted until launch. This is a Black Ops game, after all.
