Trouble Bruen (Mk9) with Platinum LMGs

Operation: Rank Up Report #0026

Day 182 – 10:03:58 PST

Somewhere in California

AGB – Lead Writer

Welcome to the Season Three Reloaded edition of the Rank Up Report.

Just like Season Three, this personal Rank Up Report is getting an overhaul to showcase more badass weapons – thanks to the new Gunsmith Customs feature – and Activision Games Blog articles you may have missed during the week.

Let’s get to ranking up:

Operators of the Week

This week, I’m showing off Firebreak Kreuger for the Allegiance, and Mighty Arsenal Thorne from the Coalition.

You can find Thorne’s skin within the Battle Pass and unlock it by completing his Operator Challenge, which is a four objective set that mixes together Multiplayer and Warzone-based missions.

As for Kreuger, his Firebreak skin is found in the new Pyromaniac Bundle that came out this week. Also included in this bundle is the Caldera, a Shotgun Echo blueprint that comes with Dragon’s Breath Rounds, and the new ‘Heat Treat’ flaming Throwing Knife.

Yes, lethal equipment is getting the taste of blueprint variants, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Thanks to this new knife, not only can I attempt to land an epic cross-map Throwing Knife, but I can also let that enemy feel the burn of that death with some flaming effects.

And by the way: as long as you have a Throwing Knife – flaming or otherwise – as a lethal equipment piece, your melee attacks are one hit kills in Multiplayer or knockdowns in Warzone.

Top Rank Up Tip

So, what weapon are those Operators holding? None other than the Bruen Mk9, which is decked out in shiny Platinum camo above.

The Bruen Mk9 is an open-bolt LMG that packs a serious punch, and is yours to unlock either through a simple challenge, or the new Encryption bundle. You can read all about unlocking this LMG here.

To earn Platinum camo on all of your LMGs, here are the requirements in order to earn Gold on every LMG, which unlocks Platinum. For tips to get Platinum camos for your SMGS, read this Rank Up Report.

Spray Paint – Kill Enemies (525)

A super simple objective that you’ll complete as you do other camo challenges.

Yes, you have to earn 25 more kills to earn all Spray Paint camos compared to the 500 for SMGs… It just goes to show that LMGs are literally the bigger brothers to SMGs.

Woodland – Kill Enemies with Headshots (75)

Only needing to earn 75 headshots isn’t so bad, especially with how accurate LMGs can be and their headshot damage multipliers.

Focus on aiming stability, recoil control, recoil stability, and high-powered optics to make aiming for heads – and staying on target – easier.

Digital – Get kills while Crouching (65)

Fun fact: crouching reduces your hipfire spread slightly, so it may be wise to chase this camo while also going for the Dragon camo challenge.

You may naturally crouch with an LMG to reduce recoil, since these beasts can, and will, kick if you fire from a standing position.

Dragon – Get Hipfire Kills (45)

The expression “spray and pray” is basically built for LMGs, which come with a high hipfire spread even if you throw on a Merc Foregrip and 5mW Laser.

Along with equipping those two attachments, try to be as close to the enemy as possible when going for hipfire kills, lest you spray all over the place down range.

Splinter – Get Longshot Kills (45)

This might be unlocked naturally as you chase this camo in Ground War or out in Warzone, but due to an LMG’s naturally high kick, I like to pair this challenge chase with the next camo challenge.

Topo – Get kills while Mounted (45)

I cannot recommend mounting an LMG – no matter what it is – enough, as it significantly counteracts the weapon class’ high recoil.

As you noticed, you only need 45 Mounted kills AND 45 Longshots. How can you do this easily? Go ahead and find a ledge or wall in a Ground War map with a long sightline – or bring your own mounting point with a Deployable Cover – and kit an LMG for maximum aiming stability with a sniper scope or other high-powered optic.

Then, go for longshots; aim at targets that are around a couple dozen meters away, and move if that “longshot” alert isn’t popping up after kills.

Tiger – Get kills while your gun is using all attachment slots (180)

Want to experiment with your LMGs? Do this challenge when testing out Legendary blueprint versions of them. They come pre-built with five attachments, and that combo might just become your new favorite as you complete this challenge.

Stripes – Get Double Kills (30)

Thankfully, Infinity Ward made this a reload challenge, since LMGs are notorious for long reload cycles.

If you have trouble getting Double Kills, LMGs have magazine-increasing attachments, with some going up to 200 rounds of ammo per mag!

Reptile – Get kills while your gun is using no attachment slots. (75)

This challenge will throw you off your progression track, as you’ll be forced to use the weapon without any attachments.

In Season Three another Zero Tolerance Officer Challenge, unlocked at Rank 61, requires you to get 300 kills using a Weapon with 0 attachments for a 15,000 XP reward.

So, do the math: the four original LMGs (Light Machine Guns Alpha through Delta) multiplied by 75 kills per LMG equals… 300 kills with 0 attachments.

That, my friends, is called maximum efficiency.

Skulls – Kill 3 enemies without dying (25)

Getting a three killstreak with an LMG doesn’t have to be hard.

Play to strengths (high magazine count, high damage output) and overcome those weaknesses with mounting the weapon, repositioning often, and limiting reloads whenever possible.

Once you complete all the weapon challenges for an LMG, you unlock the Gold camo. And, once you unlock that for all four original LMGs, you unlock Platinum for all of them.

Completing the Holger-26 and Bruen Mk9 camo challenges unlocks Gold for them and, if you had already unlocked Platinum for the other four LMGs, that shiny Platinum Camo is now yours for the Holger and Bruen.

Although I don’t like to pick favorites, you should seriously check out the Obsidian Camo article if you’re itching for more camo-related challenge tips or a few other articles that appeared on the Games Blog this week:

Gunsmith Custom Creation of the Week

Last, but certainly not least, I’ve decided to showcase an awesome Gunsmith Creation and sharing the part list for you to recreate. These weapons not only look badass, but are great ways to configure a weapon… Or at least, in my personal opinion and playstyle. Needless to say, results may vary, but these creations are cool and nobody can tell me otherwise.

Anyways, we’re showing off the Chupacabra LMG, a Season 3 Battle Pass reward that is rather accurate with a great suppressor to boot. (Look forward to a bigger breakdown of this gun next week!)

Now, how can we make this look more badass? Why not put a little bit more black to go with the Chupacabra’s red finish?

Here, we took the optic from the Warhead blueprint, the reward for those who reached Max Rank in Season One. We also mixed in the Flash Guard and 150 Belt from another LMG blueprint straight from the Season Three Battle Pass: the Mighty Moe. Finishing off our creation is the FORGE TAC Stalker Stock and the Bipod from the Old Wounds blueprint, which is earned by completing the Expert Gunsmith Mission.

This alternate way to build the Chupacabra trades off a little speed, but makes it a more accurate weapon, allowing an optimal sight picture thanks to the Flash Guard and alternate Holographic Sight. I’ll also get better stability from the Stock, and more recoil control while crouched and prone due to the Bipod. In general, this weapon is great for laying down accurate fire, no matter the distance.

That’s it for this week’s Rank Up Report. I’ll be seeing you online.

Stay frosty.

Modern Warfare, Including Warzone – A Store Bundle Refresh Featuring Mace!

A week after the massive Season Three update, Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® is getting another shipment of new bundles in the Store.

Whether it’s a fresh and frightening new Operator skin for Mace or weapon blueprints fit for a fight, here’s what’s live now in the Store for this week:

Mace: Guns Blazing

Mace is back, and he packs a punch to add to your loadouts.

‘Mace: Guns Blazing’ bundle features the ‘Undertaker’ skin, a new set of threads that makes this vicious operator look even more menacing. Also included is a new voice clip and Finishing Move for Mace, a watch, weapon charm, calling card, emblem, and three new weapons: the Epic “Coffin Nail” Combat Knife, the Legendary “Garrote” blueprint, and the Legendary “Drawn and Quartered” blueprint.

A Brief Breakdown on Mace’s Arsenal

The Drawn and Quartered blueprint for Assault Rifle Juliet for superior accuracy at range with multiple attachments that boost the weapon’s aiming stability and recoil control. Specifically, the Compensator helps you wrangle in the weapon’s vertical recoil, and the FSS Blackjack is great for reducing idle sway.

The included XRK CZEN Mk2 boosts your effective range slightly, making this weapon deal its max damage at nearly another dozen meters out. Topping this blueprint off is an extended magazine, which will give you enough bullets per mag to deal with a whole squad… or maybe two.

In general, this blueprint is a great weapon for mid-range engagements across Warzone and Multiplayer. Just remember: that Tac Laser is visible to enemies, so aim down sight only when it’s necessary!

Like Drawn and Quartered, the Garrote takes Submachine Gun Golf and configures it with attachments that make it easier to handle at the slight cost of mobility. You’ll have less trouble keeping that aim steady and that recoil under control with the FTAC Precision Field Stock, 300 mm Poly Barrel, and Tactical Foregrip.

Throw those three attachments together with a sleek 45 Round Mag and a picture-perfect Viper Reflex sight, and you have a weapon that can deal sustained damage even at a dozen meters out. That’s great for Warzone matches where you need a reliable option in close-quarters, but also out in open fields in a pinch.

Those who purchased the Season two Battle Pass and completed it may want to combine the Drawn and Quartered blueprint with the Shadowsight for a weapon that is a balance between accuracy and speed, or the Undertaker with the Garotte for an SMG that is an all-around lethal weapon.

While You’re in the Store…

… why not pick up some of the other awesome bundles that were released today?

The Plunder Pack offers a boatload of new Vehicle Skins so you can show off all over the Warzone, Multiplayer, or Co-Op. Get the full lowdown on this new bundle here.

In the blueprints section, you can find the all new Avant-Garde bundle, fit for the artist or the art aficionado out there.

The shotgun and SMG included in this bundle are splattered with lime green paint. It is truly a bold and brash paint job that’ll accent the true masterpiece that any disaster artist in training wants to make out in combat.

And, if you haven’t picked them up already, check out some of the other bundles that are rotating in the store right now from previous weeks.

We’ll see you online. Stay frosty.

Mode Recon: Demolition

Demolition returns! Season Three marks the debut of this classic Multiplayer mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Demolition represents tactical chaos at its finest, as players attempt to outsmart and overpower the other team. Do you all rush in together, or split up and cover the map? Should you run in and plant the bomb, or watch for enemies and provide cover?

Read on for more details about how Demolition works and strategies for leading your team to victory.

Rules of Engagement

Demolition is a respawn enabled round-based objective mode. Teams alternate between attacking and defending two bomb sites, similar to Search & Destroy. Unlike Search & Destroy, attacking players always spawn with a bomb and defuses don’t end the round. This leads to constant pressure and fights around both bomb sites.

There are two ways to win the round:

1. As the attacking team, destroy both bomb sites before the timer ends. If you destroy a single bomb site, you’ll add extra time to the game clock to push up, attack, and destroy the second bomb site.

2. As the defending team, protect at least one bomb site until the timer ends. When a bomb is planted, the match timer pauses. Therefore, the defending team must defuse any bombs to run out the match timer.

The first team to win two rounds wins the match. If both teams win a round, the game goes into Overtime rules for the third and final round. Overtime features a single neutral bomb site which both teams work to detonate. Every player spawns with a bomb, and the first team to plant and detonate the neutral bomb site wins. Expect chaos.

Strategies for Demolition

The opening play in a Demolition round is extremely important as teams move into position to destroy or defend the bomb sites. The attacking team gains a huge advantage if they can take out one of the sites right from the start, while the defending team gains the upper hand if they manage to get intel on the enemy and counter their initial push.

On the attacking side, you can split up and send players to both bomb sites or attempt to overwhelm a single bomb site using everyone. Both have their advantages. When you split up, one side might get lucky and find few or no defenders, offering an easy plant. Or, one group can get loud and draw attention toward one site while a smaller group heads toward the other. You could also overpower the defending team by rushing to a single bomb site.

The defending side should rarely send all players to one bomb site. Your major focus is to delay the attacking team and run down the time. Sending everyone to a single site risks leaving the undefended one open to an easy plant. The attackers get more time when they successfully detonate a bomb site, so it’s in your best interests to prevent that. When defending, split up and head toward both sites.

Communicate and win. Tell your teammates when and where you see the enemy and whether or not you need backup to handle them. If you don’t communicate, you risk overresponding to every threat, leaving major gaps in your attack or defense. Communication is key.

Map Specific Tips

Let’s take a look at Demolition on certain maps:

Rust

Attackers should consider taking the B bomb site first, as there are more cover options available. Detonate B first and you’ll have the whole team available to focus on the more open ground of A. Defenders should know that the top of the central tower covers the A bomb site, while the middle platform is better suited to protect B. If you’ve picked up the Ronin Operator Bundle, consider using the Soulful Wanderer weapon blueprint for mid-range power and precision.

Hackney Yard

Both bomb sites here are in tight spaces, so expect a lot of CQB and grenades. Consider using Tracker to spot footprints so you can better anticipate resistance when approaching a bomb site. At B, watch for attackers on the eastern wall; at A, check the scaffolding and garage for threats. Consider using the Rampage (Tier 51) weapon blueprint here, a highly mobile SMG with a large ammo supply.

Shoot House

The Shoot House bomb sites are located in the north and southwest, leaving the east side Shanty Town mostly clear as players focus on A and B. Don’t count it out as a potential route, though. It may be a longer path, but it might provide the angle you need to break through an enemy chokepoint. Try the Beefeater (Tier 55) weapon blueprint for a strong mid-range weapon with CQB capabilities in its 12-gauge underbarrel attachment.

Key Tactics for Demolition

Now let’s get those wins rolling. Here are a few tips to keep you in top fighting form while playing Demolition:

1. Stick Together: Demolition rounds are often won by the team who best manages their numbers. Sometimes it’s better to hold off for a moment so that you can attack or defuse a bomb site in unison with other teammates, as opposed to dying one by one against greater numbers.

2. Use Your Loadout Slots: Pick the loadout that best fits your current goal. If you’re focused on planting or defusing, use a class with E.O.D. and Stims for added protection. If you’re providing cover, equip Double Time so you can quickly get to where you’re most effective. This goes for weapons, too — SMGs are great for playing around the bomb, while mid- and long-range weapons excel at providing cover. Don’t get stuck in one loadout.

3. Trophy System Active: You can’t have too many Trophy Systems when playing Demolition. This fast-recharging field upgrade protects you from up to three incoming grenades, a crucial defense when planting or defusing the bomb. Use it.

4. Hardline and Four Kills: A well-timed precision strike can turn the round in an instant, whether you use the Cluster Strike, Cruise Missile, or the Precision Airstrike. Consider Hardline to reach this Killstreak tier with only four kills — just keep in mind which bomb sites are inside, and protected from aerial Killstreaks so you don’t waste the attack.

5. Overkill and Shrapnel in Overtime: Overtime ramps up the tension as both teams fight over a neutral bomb site. Use Overkill to spawn with two primary weapons, one for CQB and one for long-range attacks, paired with Shrapnel for extra explosive power. Now you’re ready for every type of engagement. Good luck to those who cross your path.

See you in Demolition.

Stay frosty.

The Cover Up, Chupacabra, and Beefeater

Season Three is underway and the battle for Verdansk continues. In this second part of the Season Three ‘Designed for Engagement’ series, we’re highlighting three more weapon blueprints to help you on your way to becoming a Warzone master.

Read on for three suggested Warzone loadouts that feature weapon blueprints now available in the Season Three Battle Pass system.

Plunder Huge Cash with The Cover Up

Primary Weapon: The Cover Up (Tier 38)

Secondary Weapon: Pistol

Perks: Double Time, Ghost, Tracker

Equipment: Stim, C4

Field Upgrade: Dead Silence (*Field Upgrades are only useable in Plunder)

Raid banks and get rich in Plunder using The Cover Up weapon blueprint. This blueprint comes equipped with 10mm rounds for improved damage and range — essential for those sudden fights on open ground — supported by a 3.25x magnification NVG enhanced sight for bright target acquisition against enemies not protected by Cold-Blooded. The Classic Straight-line Stock and Tactical Foregrip improve weapon stability to keep you on target, and the Tactical Suppressor helps maintain a low profile.

This class is highly mobile courtesy of the lightweight SMG and Double Time — break in, grab the Cash, empty the Supply Boxes, and get out. Ghost keeps you off the enemy radar, and Tracker helps you hunt down nearby enemies, an especially important perk when you run into an enemy team looting the same building. Pop Dead Silence when you’re tracking someone to keep from giving up your position. Enemy on your trail? Set a trap with your C4 and heal up with Stim as needed.

Support Your Team with the Chupacabra

Primary Weapon: Chupacabra (Tier 45)

Secondary Weapon: Pistol

Perks: Cold-Blooded, Restock, Tune Up

Equipment: Snapshot Grenade, Proximity Mine

This monster weapon blueprint is ideal for supporting your Battle Royale team in Trios and Quads. It handles well for an LMG, too, with the Tac Laser and XRK Striker improving ADS speed to help counter the weight brought on by the massive 150 Round Belt. The Chupacabra’s versatile optic performs well in close-up building fights and out in the open, and the Lightweight Suppressor keeps enemies guessing where you are as you pummel them down. Take the lead on Bounty and Recon Contracts: the Chupacabra is perfect for hunting down targets and holding a position.

Equip Cold-Blooded for protection against thermal scopes and targeting systems and Restock for continued use of your equipment throughout the match. Further your support role with Tune Up to get fallen teammates back into the fight more quickly. Keep your pistol or swap it out with a lightweight weapon you can switch to for faster movement when changing position and escaping the collapsing circle.

Go Solo with the Beefeater

Primary Weapon: Beefeater (Earn Free at Tier 55)

Secondary Weapon: Chuckwalla (Tier 59)

Perks: Kill Chain, Overkill, Battle Hardened

Equipment: Heartbeat Sensor, Thermite

When you’re going Solo, you need a versatile weapon, and the Beefeater provides just that. This free Legendary weapon blueprint unlocks at Tier 55 and is built for speed and versatility. Snap onto enemies using the improved ADS speed provided by the Stippled Grip Tape and the 13.0” OSW Para, with an Aim-Op Reflex Sight for precision targeting. Switch to the 12-Gauge Deputy when things get hairy in close-quarters, especially useful when checking staircases or moving in confined places like Atlas Superstore and the Verdansk Hospital.

Try to buy your Loadout Drop early to get the most out of Kill Chain when opening Supply Boxes, not to mention access to a second primary weapons via Overkill: pull out the Chuckwalla when you need to hose down enemies in close quarters. Battle Hardened increases in usefulness as the circle collapses and players get squeezed together, preventing sustained disorientation from tactical grenades. Take a Thermite for anti-vehicle support and the Heartbeat Sensor for extra intel when the enemy starts closing in.

Blueprint Specific Tips for Warzone

1.     The Cover Up blueprint is a great example of an SMG kitted out for success in Warzone. Its thermal 3.25x sight and upgraded 10mm rounds extend its performance out to longer ranges while maintaining the movement and handling speed of a light weapon.

2.     Bait with the Chupacabra. Just because you have 150 rounds, it doesn’t mean you need to fire them all at once. Sometimes it’s best to hold your fire, make the enemy think that you’re reloading, and then take them out when they come rushing toward you.

3.     Having fun with the Beefeater’s shotgun attachment? Experiment with other underbarrel attachments like the M203 40mm Recon which fires Snapshot rounds for ranged intel, or set fire to your enemies with the M203 40mm Incendiary.

4.     The Chupacabra’s large ammo pool is great for shooting from and at a vehicle. Let a teammate drive so you can act as a sentry in the back; when enemies come driving after you, exit the vehicle near cover and fire away as they debate over which target to focus on.

5.     Experiment with different attachments. These Legendary blueprints come equipped with great five-attachment spreads, but there’s nothing stopping you from swapping in different options to create the perfect personalized weapon.

Purchase the Season Three Battle Pass and progress through the tiers to get these three Legendary weapon blueprints for your squad alongside other goods including Operator skins, vehicle skins, XP and Weapon XP Tokens, and instant access to the newest Operator — Alex. Preview all the goods of the Battle Pass by visiting the Battle Pass tab in-game.

The Prospector’s Guide to Gold Rush and Kill Confirmed

Howdy partners!

Once Upon a Time in Rust, the sixth season for Call of Duty: Mobile, is in full swing with the Gold Rush event, a limited time exchange program where soldiers can trade in Gold Bars earned through Multiplayer and Battle Royale for some shiny new rewards.

Here’s this ol’ prospector’s tips on the Gold Rush and the new game mode that came with it: Kill Confirmed.

How to Get in on the Gold Rush

Gold Rush, a limited-time event in Call of Duty: Mobile, will see you earning Gold Bars in Multiplayer and Battle Royale to unlock new weapons and other loot items.

These items include plenty of Flowing Bronze-plated items, a new Rare Camo introduced in Season Six, and an Epic M4LMG – Moonstone weapon.

Earning these items is as simple as getting Gold Bars, a new item that can be acquired in Battle Royale and Multiplayer. While travelling around isolated and surviving against enemy soldiers in Battle Royale, be on the lookout for treasure maps that will lead you to Gold Bar mining sites.

As for Multiplayer, Gold Bars can be earned in Kill Confirmed, a game mode new to Call of Duty: Mobile that fans of the franchise have enjoyed since Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 3.

Rules of Engagement – Kill Confirmed

Maps/Teams/Loadouts:

·      Kill Confirmed is available on Standoff, Crash, Raid, Summit, Cage, Takeoff, Meltdown, and Rust.

·      Two teams enter the lobby – each team has a maximum of five players. You can either bring your own full team into the lobby, or matchmake with a random player.

·      You can use your own Custom Loadouts in this game mode.

Your Mission:

·      Eliminate the enemy team and collect the dog tags they drop upon death (every player, including you, drops a dog tag when they die). These enemy dog tags count as a Gold Bar earned during the Gold Rush Event.

·      If a soldier from Team A (e.g. Special Forces) collects a dog tag dropped by Team B (Guerilla Squad), then Team A (Special Forces) gets a point.

·      If a soldier from Special Forces collects a dog tag dropped by an ally, then they deny the enemy team from grabbing that point.

Your Goal:

·      The first team to hit the designated point value, or the team with the most points at the end of the time limit, wins the game.

·      If both teams are tied by the end of the time limit, the game ends in a draw.

During Gold Rush:

·      Every dog tag collected will add to your overall Gold Bar stash during Gold Rush.

·      Confirming another teammate’s kill earns a Gold Bar for both soldiers (both the one who earned the kill and the one who collected the dog tag)

Top 5 Tips

5. Like TDM, But with a Twist. Kill Confirmed is a great introductory objective mode for those coming from Frontline or Team Deathmatch. Just remember to follow up and collect those dog tags after getting those kills.

4. Be Aggressive. Don’t Be Reckless. Aggressive operators will be showered with dog tags by running and gunning their way to kills and confirms. However, it’s not wise to dive straight into lopsided engagements, as you might as well be hand-delivering those dog tags to the enemy.

3. Denied! Denying enemy kills is just as important as confirming your team’s kills. If your fellow soldier goes down, pick up their dog tag before an enemy runs over to grab it.

2. Golden Bait. If you suspect an enemy is nearby to grab your fallen teammate’s dog tag, try taking them out before denying their kill. That way, you get to pick up a point for your team AND deny the enemy team a point, all in one engagement!

1. Don’t Be Greedy. A teammate that confirms your kill by collecting the enemy dog tag earns a Gold Bar for both players. Work together to collect each other’s dog tag, and that M4LMG – Moonstone will be yours in no time!

Modern Warfare® Weapon Detail: SKS

Unlocked at Tier 31 in the Season Three Battle Pass, the SKS is a hard hitting and agile weapon that focuses on utility over accuracy, featuring a faster fire rate than the other marksman rifles. Its unique Gunsmith options give you the power to tailor this classic DMR into a weapon that best fits your playstyle, whether you’re looking to up its punch at range or boost its handling speed and mobility.

Whether you’ve already unlocked the SKS or you’re still working up the early tiers, this weapon detail will help you make the most of this versatile rifle. Read on for weapon tips and an in-depth look at the Legendary Utility Tool blueprint, as well as two suggested loadouts for Multiplayer and two for Warzone so you can dominate with this weapon no matter where you play.

SKS Overview

The SKS comes equipped with 20-round magazines firing 7.62x39mm ammunition. It’s got a fast fire rate, but don’t think that means it doesn’t pack a punch. Well-placed shots will make quick work of enemy players, and with the rifle’s manageable recoil and healthy ammo supply it’s forgiving as well when you need to fire several shots quickly.

Add Gunsmith into the mix and you’ve got a whole range of directions to take this rifle in. Kit it out with a long-range optic and a damage extending barrel for sniping duties, or build an on-the-move setup using the Sawed-off Stock and the lightweight 10 Round Mags for improved movement and ADS speed. With this versatile weapon, there are endless configurations to suit your needs in battle.

Blueprint Review and Loadout

Utility Tool

Available at Tier 100 in the Battle Pass, the Utility Tool Legendary blueprint is as deadly as it is gorgeous, featuring a golden dragon design that perfectly exemplifies the weapon’s lethality.

Try this setup when you first lay hands on the Utility Tool:

Primary: SKS — Utility Tool (Tier 100)
FTAC Landmark, Tac Laser, PU Scope, FTAC Hunter-Scout, 10 Round Mags

Secondary: Renetti w/ Mk3 Burst Mod (Tier 15)

Perks: Warzone: Cold-Blooded, Ghost, Tracker / Multiplayer: Scavenger, Ghost, Amped

Field Upgrade: Stopping Power Rounds

The PU Scope’s 7x magnification is ideal for sniping support, offering a clear precision picture that works well at mid-range, too. The FTAC Landmark improves the rifle’s damage range and bullet velocity for those long-distance engagements in Ground War and Warzone, with the FTAC Hunter-Scout adding stability to ensure that each shot hits its mark. And it’s snappy, too — Tac Laser and 10 Round Mags vastly increase the weapon’s handling speed so that you can react in a flash when timing matters most.

If the enemy attempts a flank, knock them down using the powerful Renetti with the Mk3 Burst Mod, and then get back to sniping. In Warzone, the blueprint’s high magnification and damage range extend your lethality against distant targets, whether you’re in a shootout between buildings in Downtown Tavorsk or taking aim at a squad on the move between zones. Our suggested Warzone perks ensure a low profile with tracking abilities.

The SKS has the handling speed to compete against the higher rate of engagements in Multiplayer as well, especially in mid- to large-sized maps or along any of the long sight lines that can be found in every map. Here we replace the first and third perks with Scavenger and Amped to keep you loaded and switching weapons fast when the need arises.

In Warzone, while the clear PU Scope still functions well at closer ranges, we suggest Overkill with an assault rifle for an automatic fire option during heated close- and mid-range engagements. Equip Cold-Blooded to prevent being highlighted in thermal optics and Spotter to help you and your squad home in on enemy strongholds. In all modes of play, Stopping Power Rounds transform the Utility Tool blueprint into an absolute killing machine.

Two Warzone Loadout Suggestions

1. Raid & Plunder

Primary: SKS
Scout Combat Optic, Bipod, SKS Rifle Stock, 30 Round Mags, Focus

Secondary: Renetti

Perks: Double Time, High Alert, Battle Hardened

Field Upgrade: Deployable Cover (*Field Upgrades can be equipped in Plunder loadouts)

This mid-range loadout is ideal for the fast-paced action in Plunder as well as Battle Royale when you’re escaping the gas or on the move completing Contracts. The Scout Combat Optic lends a precision picture that functions well from a variety of distances, with added stability from the SKS Rifle Stock to help hit moving and far off targets. Crouch or go prone to deploy the Bipod’s recoil control when you really need to zero in. 30 Round Mags minimize your downtime, and Focus keeps you on target when taking damage.

Switch to your pistol of choice for CQB or replace it with another weapon found in the field. Double Time helps you reach power positions more quickly while High Alert reduces your chances of being flanked — tell your squad when it pulses to fend off new threats together. Battle Hardened takes the edge off incoming tactical grenades. In Plunder, Deployable Cover lends protection in a pinch when you’re spotted in the open.

2. On the Move in Verdansk

Primary: SKS
22” DSS M59/66, Integral Hybrid optic, Sawed-off Stock, Commando Foregrip, 30 Round Mags

Secondary: Launcher

Perks: Double Time, Hardline, Amped

Field Upgrade: Recon Drone (*Field Upgrades can be equipped in Plunder loadouts)

While there is always an opportunity to pick off players at a distance, many engagements, particular during the final circle, happen up close. This SKS configuration gives you a highly agile and devastatingly effective marksman rifle for both the beginning and the end of a match. Paired with a Launcher, feel free to take out enemies on the ground, above, or absentminded cruisers who enter your sights.

The Integral Hybrid gives you the flexibility to switch between fights up close and at range. Your perks all up your mobility and empower you to be even more dangerous in the field. Double Time will help you escape the gas or get behind cover in a pinch, Hardline will lessen the price for Killstreaks when you need them, and Amped ensures you can switch to your Launcher faster to eliminate a vehicle-based foe.

Two Multiplayer Loadout Suggestions

1. Done For

Primary: SKS
G.I. Mini Reflex, Compensator, Commando Foregrip, 22” FSS M59/66, FMJ

Secondary: Launcher

Perks: E.O.D, Ghost, Amped

Killstreaks: Counter UAV, Cruise Missile, Sentry Gun

Field Upgrade: Munitions Box

What you give up in speed you make up for in recoil control, stability, and damage range in this Multiplayer-focused Gunsmith configuration. The G.I. Mini Reflex paired with the recoil minimizing Compensator and Commando Foregrip ensure highly stable and precise fire over successive shots. The 22” FSS M59/66 barrel maintains the rifle’s high damage output in long-range fights, and FMJ makes it more difficult for the enemy to find a safe haven behind cover.

Use your launcher to keep the skies clear of enemy threats, and against stronger aerial killstreaks follow up your missiles with shots from the FMJ-enhanced rifle — choppers and VTOLs aren’t such a threat now, are they? Equip E.O.D. for valuable explosive defense, especially useful in Hardpoint, Headquarters, and Domination. Ghost keeps you off the enemy radar and Amped minimizes downtime between launcher shots. The Munitions Box will keep you stocked when you’re on a streak.

2. Out in a Flash

Primary: SKS

Flash Guard, 16” FSS Para, Tac Laser, Sawed-off Stock, Sleight of Hand

Secondary: Pistol

Perks: Quick Fix, Hardline, Tune Up

Specialist: E.O.D., High Alert, Battle Hardened

Field Upgrade: Dead Silence

Handling speed and mobility are the key points here. The SKS’s clean iron sights are used instead of an optic, with Flash Guard reducing muzzle flash so that you don’t lose your target while firing. The rapid handling speed and mobility come from the combined use of the 16” FSS Para, Tac Laser, and the Sawed-off Stock, all working together for a huge boost in ADS and movement speed, with Sleight of Hand as the fifth choice for speedy reloads.

Quick Fix keeps you healthy between fights, Hardline provides faster access your Specialist perks, and Tune Up to increase the number of times you can use Dead Silence when coming up behind enemy players. The Specialist perks all boost your defensive capabilities, so that the more kills you get, the harder it is for the opposition to exact revenge. This is a great loadout for fast-paced game modes like Kill Confirmed and Cranked.

This is just the start of the possibilities available to you when using the SKS marksman rifle. Have fun using this weapon once you earn it at Tier 31 in the Season Three Battle Pass system, and keep tinkering in Gunsmith as you earn weapon levels to master its near infinite possibilities.

We’ll see you online.

Guns Blazing, Officer Challenge Razing

Operation: Rank Up Report #0027

Day 189 – 09:13:46 PST

Somewhere in California

AGB – Lead Writer

Another week, another step closer to Tier 100 and Max Rank in this Season Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare®.

Operators of the Week

This week, we’re featuring the new Undertaker skin for Mace. Any Operator would be lucky to even graze this terrifying tank of a soldier, who looks just as menacing as he can be in combat.

As for the Coalition, we went back to Mil Sim to show off the Tier 30 skin: the SKSF. Hailing from South Korea, this Special Forces soldier looks totally badass and ready for the Warzone.

Both of these Operators are holding the Drawn and Quartered weapon from the Guns Blazing bundle. A solid Assault Rifle Juliet blueprint, Drawn and Quartered is a fantastic weapon right out of the box for Warzone or larger Multiplayer maps, as I detailed here.

Top Rank Up Tip

By now, you are probably well on your way to max rank in Season Three, which means earning that blueprint is just around the corner. This also means you at least have the first 50 Officer Rank Challenges available.

Since, I have the first 50 challenges completed, it’s time for the semi-seasonal tradition of giving tips on the 10 I feel are the hardest/most time-consuming.

Challenge: Three Cheers – Get 333 kills with a Weapon with 3 attachments – (Rank 64, 15,000 XP)

For this challenge, try out some Rare blueprints, which come with three attachments, that you may have stashed in your Armory, including the Black Asp.

Don’t have it? Pick up the Battle Pass to get that great weapon, along with several others and get some strategies for using them in Warzone and Multiplayer in this blog.

Challenge: Karma – Kill an enemy shortly after picking up a weapon 5 times – (Rank 68, 6,000 XP)

In Warzone, try picking up any weapon off the ground – as Ground Loot, in a Supply Box, or even an enemy’s weapon – and quickly snap to an enemy player. This may be easier if you land at a popular landing locale, such as Zhokov Boneyard, and send some hapless foe to the Gulag by picking up the first weapon you see off the ground.

In Multiplayer, it may be good to either play on small maps or within objective game modes, as it gives you a better chance of finding an enemy after snatching up a weapon.

Challenge: Focused – Kill the enemy that blinded or stunned you 5 times – (Rank 70, 9,000 XP)

Equipping Battle Hardened makes this challenge a breeze; it mitigates the effects of Flash and Stun Grenades substantially.

Challenge: Resistance – Get a 5 Kill or better against attackers while guarding a single objective without dying. (5 or more kills without dying against attackers) – (Rank 79, 15,000 XP)

A returning challenge from Season Two gets a SERIOUS XP Boost – 10 times the amount of XP to be exact!

And it’s for good reason: this challenge is possibly one of the hardest out of the bunch for Season Three.

My advice? Play Demolition, which was added to Multiplayer this week. Demolition Bomb Sites are usually heavily contested, and some of them are near sniping perches or windows with great vantage points looking down onto them.

Challenge: Smoke Grenade – Kill 30 Enemies in proximity to a Smoke Grenade – (Rank 81, 1,500 XP)

One of the unlock criteria for the Bruen MK9 is to get LMG kills on enemies near Smoke Grenades

Equip some Smoke Grenades, run the Restock Perk and Munitions Box Field Upgrade to replenish that Tactical Equipment, and pop them all over the map while using an LMG with a Thermal Sight, which cuts through those thick smoke clouds to finish this Challenge and work turns earning on the Bruen MK9.

Challenge: Crushing – Run over or kill 25 enemies using Vehicles – (Rank 82, 12,000 XP)

While most of these challenges are easier to do in Multiplayer, I actually recommend completing this in Warzone – specifically, Plunder.

Pick up a Cargo Truck, SUV, or even a Helicopter, and chase down those top teams highlighted on your Tac Map with several tons of steel. Then, when the full squad is wiped, pick up their Cash and move on to the next clueless crew of Operators. To show off while completing this challenge equip vehicle skins that can be found in the Battle Pass or in Store.

Challenge: Spotter – Hack 7 Pieces of Equipment – (Rank 83, 9,000 XP)

My recommendation is to play Ground War or Warzone, where there are more enemies and, in theory, more chances for them to place down hackable equipment.

Give them a taste of their own medicine by hacking those Proximity Mines near elevator shafts and laugh when they check their own traps only to be downed and out of the fight.
